Hi Everyone,
Just want to take a few minutes and thank all of you who made the "Smile of a Child" an outstanding program during 2011. We had a great year with the things we were able to do for children with a serious illness. We expect 2012 to be another great year. This year I expect us to visit nearly 225 hospitalized children. More family fun fishing days in 2012 and a whole lot more is on its way.

Thank You,
Jim

While signing autographs a mother brought over her 10 yr old son who is wheelchair confined. Toby ask me to take a picture and sign a poster. I started a conversation with Toby about fishing. Toby said " I like to fish and watch the tournaments on TV all the time. But I have never been fishing". So, I ask Toby why he did not fish. Toby said because he was in a wheelchair no one would take him because they didn"t think he was able to fish. Well ! I invited him to go fishing from the bass boat. Toby caught his first fish and smiled the rest of the day ! ! ! There are no words to describe this other than chill bumps. Spending a day with Toby was an awakening about children who are sick and the oppurtunities they are denied by us. We are either too busy or just ignore their problem because they are not our child. "Smile of a Child" has grown from just taking kids fishing to several programs that beneift these children and their conditions. Join me in making a difference in the lives of these children : "Smile Of A Child"
